Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Engineer to join a distinguished organization focused on water management and engineering programs. The Engineer will assist with a variety of District activities, including capital projects, facility operations, and improvements. This role is pivotal in ensuring the protection of vital water rights and resources, requiring a strong foundation in engineering principles and a keen interest in water management.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional planning, design, and oversight for the maintenance, repair, and installation of structures and equipment along main canals, laterals, pipelines, pump stations, and groundwater recharge areas.
- Prepare plans using AutoCAD and manage construction for District projects.
- Review and develop maps and exhibits using AutoCAD/ArcGIS for various District activities.
- Support preparation of "requests for proposals" for District projects or acquisitions.
- Manage consultant contracts and provide technical support for water rights preservation activities.
- Track and record surface water flows and diversions consistent with governing water rights and contracts.
- Evaluate water supplies and demands, and develop water management programs with District staff and consultants.
- Perform grant research, planning, application development, and management tasks.
- Review and prepare agreements and contracts.
- Perform environmental and regulatory/permitting reviews of projects and prepare associated documents.
- Review subdivision and development plans to protect District interests, coordinating with relevant parties.
- Coordinate with management and officials to fulfill project requirements.
- Support the implementation of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan as required by SGMA.
- Support and update Agricultural Water Management Plans and other planning documents.
- Perform other duties or special assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in engineering, water resources planning, or water operations.
- Proficiency in common office software packages and experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and construction safety orders.
- Valid California driver's license; Professional Engineer license preferred (or commitment to obtain within one year).

Monday - Friday, first shift

Additional Details
Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
